Peterisoba, organizational notes

Peterisoba: 12 hours of rogaining with shortest route around 80 km. Mostly logging roads, but some bushwhacking experiences. 12 hours of linear route - around 70 km of mountainbiking, 9000 feet elevation gain, two footloops of around 1.5 hours.

Maps:
Peterisoba 4, stage 1
and
Peterisoba 4, rogaining

Rogaining map is better quality, but far from a good rogaining map - roads ar mostly accurate, but lack information on their state.

Racers: NINE RACERS! More than ever. Winners - Aaron & Ryan from Nuun/FTM.
Volunteers: Bill & Heidi picked up some CPs, so did Don Willits. Nikolay Nachev joined me in some MTB trainings, Christi Masi put on the rappel in a safe manner, Murray helped her a bit.

How much time did I spend? Uff.
I wasted way too much time on maps. Besides I have been in that area before, so I did not need to do some previous exploration, but still I spent way too much time.
  • 5 hours to realize bushwacking from Mt Si parking lot to Green Mt is a bad idea
  • 5 hours with Nikolay to explore the single track + a potential place for ropes, we put ropes in a different place
  • 5 hours to get to around Green Mt after Trioba sprint. Very slow.
  • 11 hours to get to Green Mt, Hancock's comb and put out CPs.
  • 5 hours to put out first foot loop CPs + first MTB cps.
  • 3 hours with Christi to figure out ropes.
  • 5 hours to put out first part of rogaining CPs on foot.
  • 5 hours to put out second part of rogaining CPs on MTB
  • 6 hours on race Saturday to put out the rest + get to top of Fuller Mt.
  • On after race Sunday - 2*5 hours to pick up rest of rogaining CPs.
  • After race weekend - 9 hours to pick up the rest of CPs.

68 hours in Snoqualmie tree farm.

Then map making - I have some experience on free software for maps. I could share it in person.

On points - C* points are optional and give some point values. Only Hancock's comb was not taken.
On rogaining - 1470 is point sum and only around 600 were taken by best team. It should have been more than 735 for me to be extremely satisfied.
On prizes - the usual 50$ REI card.
